DAILY FOCUS

SUNDAY 17 JESUS IS STILL MASTER OF THE SHIP; HE WILL REBUKE THE WIND AND CALM YOUR STORMY SEAS!
“For You have been a stronghold for the helpless, a stronghold for the poor in his distress, a shelter
from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the breath of tyrants is like a rainstorm against a wall.”
5 Like heat in a dry land, You will subdue the noise of foreigners [rejoicing over their enemies]; like
heat in the shadow of a cloud, the song of the tyrants is silenced.”
Isaiah 25 Vs 4-5 (AMP)

MONDAY 18 THERE WILL BE SUDDEN STORMS OF LIFE, BUT WHEN THEY ARISE, BE NOT AFRAID—EXERCISE
YOUR FAITH! THERE IS POWER AND AUTHORITY IN THE NAME OF JESUS! “Then Jesus got into the
boat and started across the lake with his disciples. 24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with
waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him up,
shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have
so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great
calm. 27 The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves
obey him!”
Matthew 8 Vs 23-27 (NLT)

TUESDAY 19 IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM, TRUST IN THE LORD—HE IS FAITHFUL!
“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of
your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. 3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!”
Psalm 57 Vs 1- 3(ESV)

WEDNESDAY 20 PRAYER WILL GIVE YOU STILLNESS IN THE STORMY SEAS!
Prayer has power to save you from your storms and distresses of life! Cry out to the Lord for
deliverance. “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 29 He
calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. 30 What a blessing was that stillness as he brought
them safely into harbor!”
Psalm 107 Vs 28-30 (NLT)

THURSDAY 21 KEEP ROWING EVEN IN THE MIDST OF THE WILDEST STORM—THE LORD IS WITH YOU AND HE
WILL STRENGTHEN YOU!
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you
and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. 11“See, all your angry enemies lie
there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing. 12You will
look in vain for those who tried to conquer you. Those who attack you will come to nothing. 13 For I
hold you by your right hand—I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to
help you.”
Isaiah 41 Vs 10-13 (NLT)

FRIDAY 22 GOD IS AN EVER-PRESENT HELP AND A STRONGHOLD IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE! “The LORD is good,
a strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and
understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him. 8 But with an overwhelming flood [of
judgment through invading armies] He will make a complete destruction of its site and will pursue
His enemies into darkness.”
Nahum 1 Vs 7-8 (AMP)

SATURDAY 23 THERE IS ALWAYS A SOURCE THAT LEADS TO THE PROBLEM! SOMETIMES GOD WANTS US TO
EXERCISE OUR FAITH AND REBUKE THE WIND THAT CAUSED THE STORM! “And there arose a great
storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder
part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not
that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the
wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? how is it
that ye have no faith?”
Mark 4 Vs 37-40 (KJV)

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Psalm 107:29-30 (KJV) “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 29He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.”
